…THE HEARTS AROUND THE GLOBE… Rev. Fr. Vigilius O. Amanze, m.ss.cc. (Parochial Vicar; St. Damien, Ocean City and St. Joseph Somers Point) New Jersey, USA.

TOPIC: WHAT MORAL STANDARDS/ETHICAL VALUES CAN BE SEEN IN THE YOUTHS OF THIS GENERATION?

Virtue as a moral excellence proves that certain unavoidable standards must be consistent throughout the entire universe. Hence, Prov. 22:6″rain up a child in a way he should go, that when he is old, he will never depart from it’. Regardless, the future must be confronted of what entails.

Having worked with the youths, both within and outside my cultural background, encourage:

Good Manners: learn and cultivate how to be polite and cheerful. Value each other’s differences and respect them to form a healthy relationship.

Honesty: be modelled in truth and intuitive by nature.

Perseverance: things (life) does not always come easy all the time. There comes in the life of a youth the fear of rejection and failure. It hurts, yes. But be brave and positively determined. Let it come naturally.

Gratitude: Life itself is a blessing. Be grateful for the things you have and are.

Love: how you treat those who love you will set the stage for the growing child. The young needs by to be surrounded by love and sincere natural affection.

Responsibility: do not refuse to tau take responsibility for positive actions and steps in life. This is an integral part of one’s life and the society at large. Always have in mind that humility makes it godly to accept responsibilities.

The youth have the capacity to making the world habitable and developed, to be kinder. Parents/guardians must instill good moral values in the young people in order to better the future generation; making sound ethical decisions. However, the role and standards in human co-existence is certainly vital both for the integrity and durability of any human society. Ethical standards for sure mold the individual into sound personality ready to fit in and lead the growth and harmonious living. Moral disposition determines the growing child’s interest of growth and perception. The values are relevant for a balanced society, such as truth, peace, love, sound education, dignity, respect, religious activities.
